My Philosophy and Approach
As a therapist, I believe in the power of genuine, warm, and trusting relationships to support healing and growth. I bring a person-centered, collaborative approach to therapy, grounded in empathy and respect for each client’s individuality. My goal is to help you feel seen--not just for your struggles, but for your strengths, values, and potential.
My approach is rooted in creating a safe, supportive, and genuinely human space where you can feel heard, understood, and accepted. Many clients tell me they appreciate that I don’t just speak to them as a therapist, but as a person. I bring warmth, humor, and authenticity into our sessions, making therapy feel less like a clinical appointment and more like a down-to-earth conversation between two people working together toward growth. I believe that connection—and even laughter—can be powerful parts of the healing process.
I view therapy as a partnership, where we work together to nurture your self-efficacy, uncover inner resources, and explore new ways of thinking and living. I believe people are capable of learning to solve their own problems when given the right support, tools, and encouragement. My role is to empower you in that process—never to judge, but to walk beside you with curiosity, compassion, and hope. I take a holistic view of each client, considering not only their challenges, but their culture, heritage, family system, gender identity, and lived experiences. I believe in the importance of intersectionality—the idea that many aspects of our identity (like race, gender, upbringing, and social context) interact to shape how we move through the world. I also strongly value choice and autonomy; we all have the capacity to choose how we respond to life, and our past does not define us!
My style is creative and flexible, especially when working with children and young people. Though I work with all age groups, I have years of experience working with school-aged youth. I often draw on elements of play therapy, arts and crafts, and games to help kids express themselves in ways that feel natural and safe. I also have a connection with college-aged clients, having worked at the university level in both academic and financial support roles. These experiences give me a well-rounded perspective on the transitions and stressors young adults often navigate.
Above all, I strive to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and empowered. Together, we’ll work to “find the flower”—to nurture the positive, the possible, and the parts of you that are ready to grow.
Education
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy--both earned at the University of La Verne.
More About Me
Outside of therapy, I’m a proud dog person—I have three big dogs who bring a lot of love, chaos, and joy to my life. I’m fascinated by the bond between humans and animals. Creativity is a big part of my life—I enjoy crafting, painting, and decorating for just about any occasion. Whether it’s making handmade gifts, painting pottery, or getting lost in a coloring book, I’m happiest when I’m surrounded by color, glitter, and a good set of art supplies.
